Game may suit us – Ian

-

FOREST Green Rovers head coach Ian Burchnall hopes this afternoon’s League One match at Oxford United will suit the Green Devils’ style of play.

The Gloucestershire side are currently rock-bottom of the third tier, while Oxford are in mid-table.

The U’s beat Woking in an FA Cup replay in midweek and thumped Port Vale 4-0 in their previous league outing.

“Oxford had a great result against Port Vale, but they’ve had some other good performances as well,” said Burchnall.

“I’ve watched their games back and they play some really good football. Their league position isn’t a true reflection of how strong the team is.

“I think we have played better against teams that get the ball on the floor – teams like Ipswich, Bolton and Bristol Rovers.

“I’m hoping this’ll be a game that suits us a bit more.”

In League Two, Swindon will hope to maintain their push for promotion when Crewe visit the County Ground this afternoon.

Sixth-placed Swindon are four points off the automatic promotion spots, while Crewe are down in 16th position.

In the National League, Yeovil Town will have their work cut out in trying to keep up their upturn in form under Mark Cooper.

The manager’s former club Notts County, who are top of the table, entertain the Glovers.
