Tory Party has drifted too far to the Left

-

I WAS pleased to see the letter by David J E Williams featured on November 22; I agree with every word. I played a large part in in leaving the EU and am proud to this day to have done so.

Earlier in this month I was verbally attacked in a public house by someone known to these letter pages as a bitter Remainer, who was foaming at the mouth with rage that Brexit had happened.

Of course, it hasn’t yet because of Boris Johnson and his band of modern-day Tories.

The Tory Party put very little effort into the campaign here in the West of England, and yet to listen to them anyone not from this country would think it was only their striving ‘hard’ work that secured Brexit.

Yet there are people who seem to think that the only way to reverse this country’s desperate self-inflicted economic woes is the return of

Boris Johnson and his made-up, on-the-hoof policies, along with all his cronies. The Tory party has now drifted so far to the left that it passed the Labour Party some time ago and is now occupying the extremes with the Liberal Democrats and the Green Party.

This country is so in need of sensible government, and yet this Tory party clings to power and will do so for two more years.

Hopefully the blue rinse brigade will, in the future, realise that their candidate selection process is so deeply flawed and when returning ‘Tory’ MPs that currently occupy Westminster they will never regain power.
