Caravan park and property group sites on the market

-

RESIDENTIAL caravan parks and properties owned by a firm with links to one of the country’s richest men have been brought to market.

Earlier this year, administrators were appointed to around 30 businesses in the Royale Life Group, which was owned by property tycoon Robert Bull. Mr Bull was previously listed 88th on The Sunday Times Rich List, which estimated his fortune at almost £2bn.

Christie & Co has now been directed by administrators from James Cowper Kreston to manage the sale of the 29 freehold assets, around half of which are based in the South West.

Seven of the properties are in Dorset, three in Devon, one in Cornwall and another in Gloucestershire. The other sites are based in the North West, South East and the Midlands.

Christie & Co said offers would be considered for individual assets, in subgroups or for the whole portfolio, and that it already received “significant” interest from adjacent landowners, park operators, speculative investors and developers.

Jamie Keith, head of holiday and residential parks, at Christie & Co, said “This is an exciting opportunity to acquire a variety of partially and fully developed residential caravan parks and related properties including development sites and a head office. We are delighted to have been appointed to market the assets, because of our ongoing relationships with the turnaround and restructuring communities.

Steve Rodell, managing director of retail and leisure at Christie & Co added: “The ability to fully expose these assets to a variety of buyer cohorts is what Christie & Co does best across all our specialist sectors. This will ensure maximum proceeds are recovered, a key aim of the administrators on behalf of creditors and stakeholders.”

Those sites affected in the South West are: Dolbeare Park, Cornwall; Gaverick Court, Devon; Oaktree Court, Devon; Stroud Heights, Gloucestershire; Regency Court, Devon; Manor Farm Court, Dorset; New Forest Court, Dorset; New Forest Glades, Dorset; New Forest Glen, Dorset; Royal Heights, Dorset; Silver Mists (Land West of Hurn Rd), Dorset; Lodge at Silver Mists, Dorset.
