Boss Gill pleased to borrow Buse from Glovers

-

JERRY Gill is delighted that National League South rivals Yeovil Town have allowed goalkeeper Will Buse to make the switch across Somerset on a 28-day loan.

The Romans lost goalkeeper Ollie Wright to injury last weekend, but were able to recruit Buse in time for the 3-0 midweek win over Taunton.

Gill said: “People are probably questioning why Yeovil are giving Bath City a keeper.

“But Mark (Cooper, Yeovil boss) knows that Will needs to play games, and a player of his quality will also want to go out and play.

“It’s also about me trying to get the right keeper in – I tried to sign him last year as well. I’m pleased he’s with us. I knew he’d be really good with his distribution and I thought he had an excellent debut.”

Bath moved up to second place in the table as a result of their victory over Taunton, albeit four points shy of leaders Yeovil, who are the inform team in the division.

The Romans today host Worthing, who have dropped down to 11th place in recent weeks amid a poor run of form, while Yeovil have a home match against Braintree, who are 13th but have won their last two.

Taunton, whose defeat at Bath was a third winless game in row, travel to Chelmsford, who lie in tenth.

Weston-super-Mare, who took a morale-boosting win over Torquay in midweek, will hope to follow up at home to fellow high-fliers Maidstone this afternoon, while Chippenham go to second-bottom Welling.

In the National League North, Gloucester City are four points below the safety line despite winning 3-0 last weekend. Today they make the long journey to Boston.

Hereford, in 17th position but just four points off the top seven, are away to Chorley this afternoon.
