Wrexham are favourites – Cooper

-

MARK Cooper says the pressure is all on opponents Wrexham when Yeovil Town head to north Wales for their FA Cup second round tie tomorrow afternoon.

The Glovers are a big name in the National League South, having been in the Championship just a decade ago, but while the Green & Whites have been in decline prior to this season, Wrexham are a club on the up under their Hollywood owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

The Dragons won the National League last term and are now in second place in League Two.

Glovers boss Cooper said: “We’re looking forward to it. It’s probably one of the five or six toughest draws we could get at this stage, and that’s bearing in mind that there are League One teams in there.

“We’ve had pressure on us to win every game (in the National League South), but there is no pressure on us to win this one.

“Wrexham know they are the favourites, so all the pressure will be on them.”

Forest Green Rovers head coach David Horseman hopes victory at Blackpool in the FA Cup could spark his side’s season into life.

The Green Devils are in the Sky Bet League Two relegation zone, while Blackpool are eighth in the division above.

Horseman told the official club website: “Something needs to kickstart our season. Going to Blackpool as underdogs, trying to get a result and turn the tide, it is vital.

“The FA Cup is special because anyone can beat anyone – it has sparked a team’s season and that’s what we’ll be looking to do.

“Blackpool have great squad depth as well as really talented individuals. It will be a huge step up.”
