CHRIS Martin may have seen it all in his lengthy career – but a trip back to where it all started is still something to look forward to.

Bristol Rovers forward Martin kicked-off his career at Norwich City, and today he returns to Carrow Road with the Pirates looking to cause an upset in the FA Cup third round.

Discussing the fixture and the prospect of making another playing return to Norfolk, Martin said: “It’s a nice one. Obviously for friends and family, they’ll get a chance to come along. The boys have just given me a bit of a ribbing there because of how many tickets I’ve asked for.

“It’s a nice tie. The age that I am, how many more times is that going to happen? Hopefully we can go there and get a positive result.

“All of my family are over that side in and around Beccles and I’ve got a few good friends living in Norwich, some mates who are season ticket holders as well, so hopefully they’re looking forward to it.

“I had some great times at the football club,” the Rovers forward added. “Some really top times and obviously it’s where I made my name and came through the academy ranks. It’s a club that I will always look on extremely fondly.

“The double-promotion squad, that was a particularly special time in my career, probably in the careers of a lot of the guys that were there at the time as well. I always look back with a smile.”

Martin has made an impressive number of appearances in the cup, with today, if he plays, being his 22nd match with nine goals scored.

And the former Scotland international is able to look back fondly
