Gill ‘delighted’ to have Yeboah in his squad

-

BATH City boss Jerry Gill is delighted to be able to call upon the services of 17-year-old Bristol City prospect Ephraim Yeboah as the race for the play-off spots in the National League South hots up.

Yeboah scored a goal on his debut for Bath in midweek, although they ultimately lost 2-1 at home to inform Braintree.

Gill said: “He’s 17 years of age, but he’s a man, really. He’s very raw, so at times he might give the ball away, he might cross behind the goal, but I’m really pleased with his goal, a great run from him and he made another one just after that where we could have slid him in.

“It’s an old fashioned 70s one, where you knock it one way and go around the other; a really, really nice moment for him as well, so we’re delighted to have him on board.”

The fifth-placed Romans will hope to get back to winning ways when they visit Slough, in tenth, today.

Yeovil suffered a rare defeat at Chelmsford last weekend, but a midweek draw for the second-placed Essex side and two defeats on the bounce for third-placed Worthing means the Glovers have an 11-point advantage at the top with a game in hand on the chasing pack. They head to Farnborough today.

There is a West derby in Wiltshire, as Chippenham host Weston, while Taunton head to Gloucester to play Truro as the sides look to get a game in amid a string of postponements.

Gloucester themselves have an away contest at play-off chasing Alfreton in the National League North, while Hereford go to Curzon Ashton with both teams just outside the top seven in the table.
