We’ve had quite a few injuries to contend with – Cotterill

and I think that the lads will be ready for it.”

On the plan since the midweek defeat at Mansfield, Cotterill added: “They have been okay, a lot of it is about rest and recovery, really.

“They have done a light session (on Thursday), you can’t do too much when you have got a threegame week. The only one who hasn’t trained was Jordon Garrick, he just felt a bit poorly, we will just have to wait and see how he is.”

Dom Thompson has a welldocumented hip issue and has played through the pain barrier, but Cotterill said: “They have all done it to be fair, not just Dom. It has been one of those juggling acts, really, not just with Dom, but with quite a few of them that have had injuries.

“We have missed Ryan (Inniss, right) at a stage, we have missed Rich Keogh at a stage, we have missed Jordan Moore-Taylor. So, I think they have done remarkably well considering the challenges that they have had to overcome.”

Wrexham currently sit second in the league, just four points behind leaders Stockport. They come into the game on the back of four wins in their last five, with the most recent being a fine 4-1 win over Crawley.

Wrexham and Rovers previously met in February, in which the game finished 1-1 after an early goal from Forest Green’s Emmanuel Osadebe was only cancelled out by a late penalty from Paul Mullin.

However, the Green Devils will have to even up their game from that in order to get that much-needed win. A worst-case scenario could see them six points safety with just two games to play come this evening.

Gavin Gunning admits his team picks may have some element of experimentation in the closing weeks of the campaign.

Having secured their League Two status last weekend, Swindon can play without so much pressure in the final few games, starting with today’s home match with play-off hopefuls AFC Wimbledon.

Gunning said: “Who is going to be here and who is not? Does everyone want to stay? Who do we keep, who do we not? How does it work? Who do we see outside our bubble? That is important.”
