West Country sides discover their FA Cup draws

-

GLOUCESTER City have been drawn at home to Dorking Wanderers in the FA Cup third qualifying round.

The Tigers progressed after beating Plymouth Parkway 3-1 on Sunday and will now hope to overcome Dorking, who are currently sixth in the Bostik League Premier Division.

Meanwhile, Cirencester Town have been drawn away to Southern League Division One South rivals Winchester City.

The ties are due to be played on Saturday, October 6 but Gloucester’s tie with Dorking might have to be moved due to a fixture clash with landlords Evesham United, who are due to face Thatcham in a league game that day.

Fabien Robert scored 17 seconds into his Gloucester debut after joining on a month-loan deal from Forest Green as they beat Plymouth Parkway at the Jubilee Stadium. Parkway responded with a fourthminute penalty by Adam Carter and it remained 1-1 until half-time with Joe Parker going close as he hit the bar. Harry Williams put the Tigers back ahead after the break and substitute Jake Jackson added the third with 11 minutes left.

Cirencester overcame a potential banana skin at Hellenic League Premier Division side Binfield and won 3-0. Alan Griffin opened the scoring and Ben Whitehead bagged a brace.

Cinderford crashed out though as they were beaten 3-0 by Southern League Premier Division side Poole Town. Bristol Manor farm face an away tie against Slough Town or Sholing as they look to reach the FA Cup fourth qualifying round for the first time. Slough play two levels above Manor Farm in National League South, Sholing are one level lower in the Wessex Premier Division. The sides drew 2-2 at Slough on Saturday and replay tonight.

In other third qualifying round ties on October 6, Weston-super-Mare will be at home to Coggeshall Town if they win tonight’s replay at Salisbury City, while Bath City will be at home to Kings Langley or Lewes.
