Bath name a young team

Western Daily Press - - Cricket, Rugby -

BATH Rugby are risking very few of their first-choice players against a strong Newcastle Falcons squad in the Premiership Rugby Cup tomorrow night.

Tom Homer is arguably the only name in the starting XV this evening who will line up against Worcester Warriors when the league campaign resumes a week on Saturday.

Will Vaughan and Max Lahiff pack down either side of Michael van Vuuren in the front row, while Academy lock Will Britton comes in alongside Levi Douglas at lock.

Josh Bainbridge – a 22-year-old former England Under-20 from Yorkshire Carnegie – comes in on loan in a back row with Miles Reid and Jack Davies, while Max Green and Alex Davies form the halfback pairing, the latter as skipper.

England Sevens convert Ruaridh McConnochie continues on the left wing with Levi Davis on the right. Max Clark and Jack Wilson form the centre pairing with Homer at full-back.

The standout name on the bench is Joe Cokanasiga, who was released from England duty.

The hosts name a much more experienced XV, including winger Sinoti Sinoti and former Bath player Michael Young.
