‘Cruel’ dad jailed in bid to get back daughters

AMAN who took his children from their mother in the West Country and left them with relatives in Libya is back in jail for a third time after a High Court judge said he was guilty of “unnatural cruelty”.

Mr Justice Hayden handed Mohammed El Zubaidy a two-year prison term after concluding he was in breach of a judge’s order to return his two daughters, who are now 18 and seven, to England.

The judge imposed the sentence at a hearing in the Family Division of the High Court in London after El Zubaidy’s estranged wife, Tanya Borg, 39, of Pewsey, Wiltshire, complained he was in contempt of court.

El Zubaidy, 40, of Wood Green, north London, has already been given two one-year jail terms after other judges also concluded he was in contempt as a result of breaching orders. He has twice spent several months in jail before being released on licence.

Mr Justice Hayden heard how El Zubaidy had gone to Libya nearly four years ago after clashing with his elder daughter. Ms Borg told how El
