MP well informed about cull legislation

-

FORTUNATELY for his constituents and for Western Daily Press readers Ian Liddell-Grainger MP does avail himself of the range of scientific knowledge regarding bTB, not just the bits that Hazel Wood cherrypicks in her letter (December 4).

There has never been a cull of badgers in an area afflicted with high levels of cattle TB that has failed to reduce the number of reactors to TB testing. The allegedly inadequate skin test for bTB is actually perfectly adequate in areas not inhabited by tuberculous badgers – for example, Scotland and the Isle of Man.

The NFU (I am not a member) is now making honest efforts on behalf of all farmers to rid Britain
