Why we should all have data reservations
IT used to be that we worried whether the sheets had been changed when staying in a hotel.
But the latest cyber attack suggests that it’s not the bedbugs we need to be concerned about but computer bugs.
The latest company to put our personal information at risk was the Marriot Hotel chain which saw 500 million guests have their details compromised. The hack was one of the worst in history.
Every month now, it seems, some large firm we entrust with our credit card numbers, home addresses, telephone number, even passport details, is not doing enough to protect us.
The Marriott breach shows that as we check in, the hackers check us out.
