Tributes to Joshua after fatal stabbing

TRIBUTES have been paid to Joshua Hall, who died on Friday following a stabbing at Cam

Social Club in Gloucester­shire.

Joshua, 17, was a former pupil at Rednock School, in Dursley, and headteache­r David

Alexander has written to pupils, parents and carers following his death.

It reads: “I am sure you are aware of the devastatin­g news received during the last few days of the death of Joshua Hall who was a former student of Rednock School.

“Josh’s death has shocked and saddened the whole of the school community and our thoughts are with his family at this time and those affected by his passing.

“We are acutely aware that this news and the tragic circumstan­ces surroundin­g it will have affected a number of our students and staff.

“Our core purpose is to support them as much as we can. Consequent­ly, I wanted to make you aware of some of the details surroundin­g the school’s response to the news and how we will support the students during this time.

“On our return to school, the whole school community will unite via a virtual whole school assembly, offering a time for reflection and rememberin­g

Josh.”

The school has also said that it will be supporting students following the news of Joshua’s death.

Mr Alexander added: “My thoughts are with you all at this time; it has been a shock for everyone in the community and we need to pull together to support everyone.

“One thing which has characteri­sed our community during the pandemic is how supportive and positive we have all been. I know how special that is; it is to be valued and praised as it will provide a way forward for us all. Thank you for your incredible support.”
