Travelodge opening new West hotels

TWO new Travelodge hotels are opening in the Bristol area.

The new hotels, opening this summer, will create 40 jobs.

Travelodge is opening 17 new hotels across the country in 2021, as part of a £175 million postpandemic investment, and two of those will be in or around Bristol.

The hotels, in Emersons Green and in Avonmouth, are expected to open this summer.

The Avonmouth Travelodge will have 81 rooms, an on-site restaurant, and is being constructed at the Capital Industrial Park, close to Avonmouth Docks.

The firm is hiring 25 people to work at Avonmouth, under new manager Irina Knightley.

At Emersons Green, the new Travelodge is on a site close to the M4 between the Bristol and Bath Science Park and the Emerald Business Park.

The hotel here has created 15 jobs, will have 90 rooms and also an on-site restaurant. The hotel is being managed by Anthony Pollard.

“It’s great to mark coming out of lockdown with the announcement that we are extending our Bristol network by opening a further two hotels and bringing more SuperRooms to the city,” said district manager Huw Huckridge.
