Man held on suspicion of attempted murder
A MAN in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after another man suffered lifethreatening head injuries in Swindon.
Wiltshire Police said it was called to Thames Avenue at approximately 9.15am on Tuesday.
A man in his 20s was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, Oxford, with life-threatening head injuries where he remains.
Yesterday police arrested a man, also in his 20s, and he remained in custody at Gablecross Police Station last night.
Detective Inspector Joe Saunders said: “We know this incident would have caused concern in the local community but we’d like to reassure the public that this is an isolated incident.
“While inquiries are still at an early stage, we believe those involved were known to each other and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident.”
