Olympic showjumping coach accused of rape
AN Olympic showjumping coach has appeared in court accused of rape.
John Sillett, 54, is accused of raping a woman between January and November 2015.
He also faces allegations of sexually assaulting a girl under 13 in 2010 and sexually assaulting a woman in Marlborough in Wiltshire, France and Spain.
The alleged assaults are said to have taken place between 2010 and 2017.
Appearing before Swindon Magistrates’ Court yesterday morning, Sillett, of Farley Hill, Wokingham, Berkshire, entered no pleas to the 12 charges.
Dressed in a dark jacket and jeans, he spoke only to confirm his name, date of birth and address.
He was bailed by chairman of the bench Gail Chilcott to appear before Salisbury Crown Court on June 4.
