Workspace step nearer completion
WORK to create 40,000 sq ft of creative workspace in Bath has taken another step forward.
Property regeneration company TCN UK has invested more than £9m into transforming the former Stothert and Pitt building in Bath Quays into Newark Works. The transformed building is set to become the latest creative workspace hub in the city centre.
After several attempts to restore the building’s enormous roof, the 170-year-old timbers were found to be rotten beyond repair.
But removing the roof inspired TCN staff to put in some large skylights to complement the office spaces.
The 19th-century brickwork has also been jet-blasted to reveal its original, pristine state.
