As part of This Time’s Crack Down On Crime season, Alan and Jennie co-host a special episode on punishment. They’ve taken viewers’ thoughts on the return of flogging, now they’ll discuss mass imprisonment.

Alan (Steve Coogan, above) has volunteered to wear an electronic tag round his ankle for 24 hours, but is embarrassed when reporter Ruth (Lolly Adefope) runs through his curious movements over the last day.

Alan is also sent into a youth offenders institute – watch out for a most excellent ‘Aha’.

In other news, Jennie (Susannah Fielding) is thrilled after her recent engagement, but Alan wonders if she should stop going on about it on air.

“It’s a bit low brow,” he complains. “It’s a bit ITV.” Just brilliant.
