Encompassi­ng all areas of National Lottery funding, you can nominate local legends and hometown heroes in the following categories: arts, culture and film, community/charity, heritage, environmen­t and sport. In addition, there will be a young hero award for someone under the age of 25.

Furthermor­e, groups or organisati­ons are eligible to enter The National Lottery Project of the Year category, where shortliste­d finalists will face a public vote later in the year.

All award winners will receive an iconic National Lottery Awards trophy and £5,000 for their organisati­on.

Nomination­s can be made by completing an entry form on our website www.lotterygoo­dcauses.org. uk/awards.

All nominees must have been funded by The National Lottery or be associated with a National Lottery funded project. Entries must be received by midnight on 1st June 2022.

At least Britain is prepared, at last, to put its money where its mouth is. The offending nations have created their own rods for their own backs and it seems a case of ‘to hell with the rest of you cos I’m AllRight Jack’. They are finding it a difficult pill to swallow, even though the medicine will eventually make them better.

To put it in simple terms which even a child should be able to understand, it’s as if they have been gorging themselves on sweets and doughnuts because they taste nice and are convenient­ly cheap, despite the health warnings that they could rot your teeth and make you fat!

The time has now come when you have to go on a diet and slim down, have all your rotten teeth removed and put up with dentures. Not a pleasant outcome for anybody, but essential for your eventual wellbeing.

It’s always a bit late in the day to make such sacrifices which will eventually lead to a better lifestyle but one which is worth taking if you want any quality to your life in the long term.

Will the Germans and the Italians and other like minded countries ever realise how to stop the rot of Putin’s aggression and stop buying their ‘Sweets and Doughnuts’ off him and funding his limitless aggression?

When it comes to self interests, don’t hold your breath on such actions by these NATO Alliance partners of doing the right thing.
