Rihanna ‘in talks’ to headline Glastonbury
RIHANNA is “in talks” to headline Glastonbury Festival 2023, according to newspaper reports.
The Barbadian pop superstar, pictured, is said to be discussing a big show at the Somerset event in June next year as part of a musical comeback, The Sun reports.
The RnB singer has never performed at Glastonbury Festival before, but she could be set to top the bill in 2023 after tickets to the event sold out in just over an hour last weekend. Bookmakers currently have Rihanna as the fifth favourite to take one of the three big Pyramid Stage slots. However,
“a source” has reportedly revealed to The Sun’s Bizarre column that Glastonbury bookers are now talking to the singer, famous for songs such as Diamonds and Umbrella.
The source reportedly told The Sun: “Rihanna has been approached about Glastonbury. Next year’s festival would be just the right timing for her. She is a huge name for Worthy Farm and would be the perfect addition to the line-up.
Everything about Rihanna’s music comeback is being closely guarded, but her team has been talking with the Eavis family.” Talking previously about performing at Glastonbury, Rihanna said: “I’d love to play Glastonbury. I have heard so many things about what happens there. I love rock music. I love Kings of Leon and The Prodigy. I like the more traditional rock bands, too: Aerosmith and Bon Jovi. I could rock the stage at Glastonbury, no question.”
