Bath City postpone next two games

-

BATH City FC have released a statement announcing the postponement of several upcoming fixtures in light of the head injury to striker Alex Fletcher.

The men’s First XI’s upcoming Vanarama National League South fixture against Worthing and Somerset Cup game against Nailsea and Tickenham FC have both been cancelled. For Bath City Women, their fixture against Wellington Ladies FC has also been postponed.

The club said: “New dates for these fixtures will be announced in due course”, adding that “tickets purchased for the home games at Twerton Park will be valid for the rearranged fixtures”.

The announcement comes after Bath City striker Alex Fletcher was seriously injured during the early stages of the game against Dulwich Hamlet on Tuesday, November 8. An ambulance was called to Twerton Park after Fletcher collided with an advertising hoarding in the fifth minute of the match.

In a heartfelt message, the club said: “The club would like to thank all those involved for their understanding, as well as the wider community for their touching messages of support.

“We continue to send our unconditional love, strength and support to Alex and his family.”
