Festival will be celebration of local produce
TAUNTON food and drink festival is set to return in style.
Free to attend, the purpose of eat:Festivals is to celebrate local producers surrounding the county town.
The highly anticipated festival will take place on Saturday, November 26, between 10am and 4pm, at Hammet Street and St Mary Magdalene Church.
In a statement on the festival’s website, a spokesman for eat:Festivals said: “The festival’s aim is to bring a great range of producers and products into the town on the day of the festival.”
They said featured producers were mostly based within 30 miles of the town, with a few “exceptional and hard-to-find products” from further afield.
There would be a hands-on cook school, workshops, livestock, tractors, plus “lots” of entertainment and competitions.
“It’s a free day out and a chance to meet friends whilst discovering something new,” they continued.
“We trade between 10am and 4pm. We know our peak hours are between 11am and 2pm. If you want to have a bit more elbow room to get the pick of the produce, we recommend you arrive early.”
The festival is a fun, family environment, with visitors even allowed to bring their dogs.
Designed to provide and cater for everyone’s dietary needs, it will offer a wide range of vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free and alcohol-free items.
There is no need to pre-book or purchase tickets.
