Firm postpones launch of steakhouse

-

STEAKHOUSE chain Miller & Carter says the opening of its Taunton restaurant has been postponed.

It was originally due to open on November 24, but the date has been put back to December 15.

The restaurant will occupy the former Toby Carvery on Ilminster Road.

Both Miller & Carter and Toby Carvery are owned by Mitchells and Butlers.

Despite the delay, the owners say they are looking forward to opening the Taunton venue. In an upbeat plug for the new restaurant, a spokesman for Miller & Carter said on its website: “We could say that we’re one of the best steakhouses in Taunton. But we’d rather leave that to your judgement.”

The restaurant will be open from 8am until 10pm and will provide a number of jobs in the town.

It will become the third Miller & Carter restaurant in Somerset. The company already has restaurants in Bath and Weston-superMare.
