Man in hospital following assault
A MAN was taken to hospital after being assaulted by two men in a Gloucestershire market town on Friday night.
The police were called to Cricklade Street, Cirencester, by South West Ambulance Service at around 11.30pm.
The assault took place near Waterstones, and a police cordon was erected in the centre of the town. The cordon was removed on Saturday afternoon.
Gloucestershire Constabulary has confirmed that no arrests have been made following the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
The force said in a statement: “Members of the public assisted and emergency services attended.
“The victim, a man aged in his 50s, was taken to Swindon hospital and his injuries are not believed to be serious.”
