Trump edged out by Murphy

BRISTOL cueman Judd Trump is out of the UK Championship following a 6-5 defeat to Shaun Murphy in York yesterday.

Murphy, struggling with neck and back pain, opened with a break of exactly 100, but had to come from 5-3 down to move into the quarter-finals.

Breaks of 110 and 104 drew him level before a 53 in the final frame sent Trump, above, crashing out.

Gloucestershire’s Jack Lisowski was playing Hossein Vafaei in his last-16 match last night.
