I stand by everything that I previously said
THERE is an old saying, “You know you’re over the target when you start catching flak”.
That is certainly true of the plethora of letters attacking me in this newspaper last Friday.
As background, I have done a lot of work in the fields of heat transfer, fluid flow and thermodynamics, branches of physics necessary to understand how the climate works.
I wonder how many of those critical of me have any relevant experience?
In answer to a specific criticism, yes I do study scientific papers and I do examine the evidence. I do not get my information from politicians, bureaucrats or the media.
In particular, I study the work of independent scientists, particularly eminent physicists. I could cite hundreds of scientific papers by independent scientists in support of my statement.
I treat with a certain amount of scepticism the results of scientists in academia and other organisations that get their funding from governments. Their careers and livelihoods depend to a great extent on producing the results that their paymasters expect.
In summary, I stand by everything that I wrote in my previous letter to the WDP.
