In a re-run of this perfectly-pitched parenthood comedy from Sharon Horgan, this is one of the stand out episodes, thanks to a perfect piece of casting.
Joanna Lumley pops up as Felicity, selfobsessed mother of equally self-obsessed Amanda (Lucy Punch).
It’s the dreaded Mother’s Day, which is the reason Felicity has graced Amanda with her presence all the way from Cheltenham – although she’s not interested in seeing the grandchildren and is rather disappointed at the choice of restaurant.
Liz (Diane Morgan) and Kevin (Paul Ready) try to avoid the celebration with an impromptu trip to the countryside.
Anne (Philippa Dunne) is beside herself at the prospect of a day with her Mammy – “Only two more sleeps!”
While Julia (Anna Maxwell Martin), who is feeling completely ignored, busies herself with cracking on to the builder.
