Bath keen on fly-half Russell
BATH Rugby are lining-up the Scotland and British & Irish Lions fly-half Finn Russell as their next number ten, according to reports in the national press.
It is reported that Russell, 30, is set to swap French Top 14 giants Racing 92, who he has played for since 2018, for the Premiership and Rec next season.
Talks are said to be at an ‘advanced stage’ and that it is ‘very likely’ that Russell will join Bath as their marquee player.
After an underwhelming 18 months of recruitment, Bath’s new head of rugby Johann van Graan has come out swinging in recent months after snapping up three of the top players to become available when Worcester and Wasps fell into administration – England internationals Ollie Lawrence and Ted Hill, as well as Alfie Barbeary.
