YEOVIL’S Matt Worthington had a mixed afternoon as he scored the winning goal in the Glovers’ 1-0 home win over FC Halifax but was later shown the red card.

Worthington, right, netted from the penalty spot late in the first half, but was shown his second yellow card 15 minutes from time, leaving his teammates to hang on for the three points.

Both sides got off to a slow start at Huish Park before Owen Bevan was brought down in the area and the referee pointed to the spot.

Worthington did not waste the opportunity as he sent his strike past Halifax goalkeeper Sam Johnson to put his side ahead on 44 minutes.
