Missing Levi’s mum tearful

-

THE devastated mum of missing former Bath Rugby player Levi Davis became emotional on Good Morning Britain yesterday as she expressed her “frustration” about the lack of updates about her son.

Julie Davis appeared on the programme nearly three months since the last confirmed sighting of Levi.

The 24-year-old sent videos to his mum on October 29 after leaving his friend’s house in Ibiza to catch a boat to Barcelona. The former X Factor contestant looked happy as he showed his mum the “beautiful” view across the sea from the boat, and updated her with another video of a band playing at The Old Irish Pub in Barcelona once he arrived in the city.

Levi was last seen leaving the pub at around 10pm to walk ten minutes to the Hard Rock Cafe. His phone signal was later picked up near the city’s Sants railway station - that was his last known movement.

The disappearance of Levi has been the centre of much attention in Spain, with missing person posters stuck to lampposts throughout Barcelona, speculative podcasts released and the Spanish police investigating the case.

But Julie became tearful as she discussed the lack of updates.

She told presenters Susanna Reid and Ed Balls: “It’s been very, very difficult. I’ve been trying to take one day at a time and I only recently started back at work just to, I suppose, have some normality because I think sitting at home looking at the four walls was doing my head in.”

Julie’s voice then broke as she became visibly upset, with Susanna offering her tissues to dry her eyes as she held her hand.

Susanna asked whether she felt “encouraged” by the Spanish efforts to find Levi.

“I’ve had a lot of support with family friends and, of course, the private investigator has been working very hard. The Spanish police have done their bit as well but I think where there’s been difficulties... because of the language barrier and having to go via the British Consulate. The feedback of news and updates is very slow.”
