CORONATION STREET

Comedian Helen Lederer only has eyes for Bill Roache as she takes on the role of Ken Barlow’s new love interest in Coronation Street.

Ken will prove he still has what it takes to woo the ladies when he catches the eye of Helen’s character Elspeth during a singles cocktail night at the Chariot Square Hotel.

Helen, 65, reckons Bill, 91, is just as dashing away from the cameras.

She said: “I can see why Elspeth is interested in him – he is a real silver fox with very chiselled cheekbones.”

In next week’s episode, Elspeth sends drinks over to Ken and his son-in-law Steve.

Elspeth is invited to join them, leaving Steve gutted that his father-in-law has hit it off with an attractive lady while he has not met anyone.

Over at the Rovers, Daisy is less than thrilled by her mum Christina’s arrival.

The latter soon makes herself at home, however, even throwing herself into a speeddating event hosted by Glenda. The night is a big success, but it ends in terror when, after closing up, Glenda is confronted by masked burglars.

Nina realises Roy has been sleepwalking again, and tells Dee-dee she’s worried about how he’ll afford his legal fees.

Elsewhere, Sarah realises Damon has been lying to her, Joseph passes Oakhill’s entrance exam and Evelyn calls a truce with Cassie.

EASTENDERS

Phil calls on trusty Mitchell lawyer Ritchie to help, but will Callum be tempted to use his own professional connections as details of a past crime emerge?

Ben isn’t the only one organising a party for their other half, as Zack decides to welcome Whitney home with a baby shower. Sadly, he doesn’t expect her to turn up with an extra guest – young Britney, who Whitney reveals she is now fostering.

Jean is concerned when she discovers Jade is already home from hospital, and her worries only increase when she learns that Dean has been administering his daughter’s medication.

Yolande is determined to get to the bottom of Denzel’s behaviour, even if it means hiding a mysterious package he ordered, and Avani tries to get her parents back together.

EMMERDALE

Pollard is increasingly suspicious about Amit - and Vinny thinks he should find some hard evidence to back up his hunches.

So, Vinny steals Amit’s keys and tries to keep him talking, giving Pollard a chance to rifle through Holdgate for any incriminating clues.

Unfortunately, Amit realises he’s being stalled and heads home, and Pollard has his phone on silent, so he doesn’t hear Vinny’s warning call. Could the unlikely detective duo be about to make a dangerous enemy?

Elsewhere, Ruby gets into a row with Nate, but Nicky gently suggests to this mum that constantly arguing with the Dingles isn’t the way to get her relationship with Caleb back on track.

POBOL Y CWM

DI Lloyd is a step closer to proving the identity of the murderer. Maya turns to Sioned after Delyth’s bombshell.

Yvonne asks Delyth to leave Cwmderi with her. Will Kelly and Howard’s plan to save the dogs succeed?
