Venues hoping to be raising a glass in victory
THE eight pubs named the best in Wales, will be part of a national award ceremony which recognises the best in each – old – county of the United Kingdom.
ey are all on the 2024 National Pub & Bar Awards list, after being identi ed by judges as standing out above the rest.
Pub & Bar magazine runs the annual event, which each year crowns nearly 100 county winners from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland, with the intention of giving each site “a unique platform to promote themselves and increase guest footfall from locals and visitors alike”.
Organisers say the venues now have several weeks in which to trade o their win, before making their way to the National Pub & Bar Awards grand nal on June 26 in London.
All county winners will come together and celebrate their achievements, before discovering which will go on to become regional winners.
e following Welsh pubs are the 2024 National Pub & Bar Awards county winners:
Clwyd: Mold Alehouse, Mold
Dyfed: White Hart atched Inn & Brewery, Carmarthen
Gwent: e Goose and Cuckoo, near Abergavenny
Gwynedd: e Bull’s Head Inn, Beaumaris
Mid Glamorgan: e Old House 1147, Llangynwyd
Powys: e Sun Hotel, Llansant raid-ymmechain, near Welshpool
South Glamorgan: Hare & Hounds, Aberthin
West Glamorgan: Britannia Inn, Gower.
e awards night will also crown the pub group of the year, bar group of the year, the Tyrrells Tyrrellbly good taste award – presented by the event’s headline sponsor – and the overall national pub and bar of the year.
