Policemen win award for wildlife protection
A POLICE officer from North Wales has been awarded a lifetime achievement award sponsored by the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
Sergeant Rob Taylor, of North Wales Police, has spent the last eight years as the force’s lead wildlife investigator and manager of the rural crime team for the past two years.
He was presented with his award at the National Crime Enforcers Conference, in Leamington Spa.
PC Mark Goudling, of South Wales Police, won the Wildlife Law Enforcer of the Year Award for his wide range of work, from tackling fishing poaching to raising awareness among partner agencies.
Anne Meikle, Head of WWF Cymru, said: “Sergeant Rob Taylor from North Wales Police and Police Constable Mark Goulding from South Wales Police have undertaken a huge amount of work to protect wildlife and the environment in their areas and I’m very pleased indeed to congratulate them on these very special awards.”
