Bedwas hit back after coach lays down Law

STEVE LAW was delighted after his side’s stunning comeback to beat Carmarthen Quins – although admitted he had some choice words for his players at half-time.
“We showed great character and yes, I read the riot act a bit at half-time,” admitted Law. “But our scrum improved as it went on and our play in the contact area grew stronger. We made a lot of mistakes early on but we physically outplayed the Quins at the end.”
Carmarthen scored after 40 seconds with a penalty by fly-half Dan Jones and then wing Gavin Thomas scored tries after seven and 12 minutes respectively.
Tries by flanker Ellis Lloyd and then Connor Lloyd with a Jones conversion made it 30-0 to the Quins
But Bedwas hit back as Tom Rowlands worked Matthew John a try on 34 minutes that Richard Powell converted with a mighty kick.
In the second half Quins lost Thomas and replacement prop Nathan Williams to yellow cards with Bedwas gaining a penalty try.
And, after 60 minutes, came a key moment as lock Geraint Edmunds charged down a Jones kick and scored for Powell to convert.
Hooker Alun Rees claimed a forwards try and Powell’s brilliant conversion gave Bedwas a 32-30 lead.
And finally Powell broke and centre Adam Williams stormed up to crash over with Powell converting.
