Castle Leisure – striving for a greener business

-

A major refurbishment is currently under way at Castle Leisure’s Canton bingo club and is set to be it’s most eco-friendly club to date.

The oldest of Castle’s clubs on Cowbridge Road, which is to be renamed New Canton, aims to be as energy efficient as possible on opening with heating and lighting the main areas of focus.

Insulation in a brand-new roof and in steel insulated core doors as well as the removal of non-essential windows will see a 40% increase in insulation efficiency.

LED lights will replace the current halogen bulbs as well as all of the neon feature lighting resulting in a 60% cut in lighting power usage.

LEDs typically output 5kwh compared to the energy sapping 50kwh of the club’s previous halogen bulbs.

The club will also see a cut to its power usage of around 35% from replacement, energy-efficient heating, ventilation and boiler systems.

All these new and efficient systems help to keep Castle Leisure striving for a greener business and a greener Wales.

Social media and the Castle Bingo website are great ways to keep up to date with the latest promotions and news, especially with the exciting new re-launch of New Canton.
