Vote to create a prosperous Wales

-

NOTHING changes in political elections. Many years ago the Welsh poet Harri Webb said: “It is election time again. Here come the English parties with their promises like the rattle of swill buckets on the troughs of the Welsh electorate.”

For nearly a century the people of Wales have placed their faith in successive governments who all inherited and exploited our huge natural resources.

Many of our communities are trapped in a low-wage economy and have some of highest levels of social deprivation in Britain. We are dependent, to a large extent, on generous European grants.

The Scottish people learned from bitter experience in the independence referendum that these Unionist parties’ promises are worthless. So in the last general election Scotland elected 56 SNP MPs – a gain of 50.

Surely it is time for all of us in Wales to wake up. Plaid Cymru is the only party that was created to serve us. In this election Plaid has a talented, and energetic team, with realistic ideas which have been costed by independent authorities.

Let us vote and create together a prosperous Wales. Maldwyn Lewis Porthmadog, Gwynedd
