White’s all right... and ready to fight

-

STRIKE ace Jordan White has spoken of his elation at finally making his long awaited Wrexham debut, but admits: “The hard work starts now.”

Summer signing White hasn’t featured for the first team since pre-season because of a bloodstream disease but he made his Reds bow as a second half substitute in last Tuesday’s 1-0 defeat at Lincoln City.

He’s now available for selection and in manager Dean Keates’ plans for tonight’s home clash with Macclesfield Town, White is not about to rest on his laurels.

“That was my first game coming off the bench and it is going to be hard work,” said White.

“It is not just a case of ‘that’s me back and that’s me settled now,’ I need to keep knuckling down and take it on from here. It has to be.

“I don’t feel any pressure, that doesn’t bother me. I have just got to keep working hard and looking after my body.

“It is important for me because I am coming back and I don’t want any further setbacks.”

White admits he was relieved to finally make a competitive appearance for Wrexham but insists he treated it like any other game when he was brought on for the final 30 minutes at Lincoln.

“I was getting a bit frustrated at not being able to make my debut but I had to bide my time,” said White.

“For me it was no different, as soon as I get out on that pitch it is just business as usual but it was obviously good to be back out there.

“I have been training and I had a slight niggle last week so I didn’t want any more set-backs, and hopefully there aren’t any more set-backs.

“I feel good so I am getting there.”

White is hoping a first start isn’t too far away and that he can go on to enjoy a run in the side.

“I want to get in as soon as I can but it is the manager’s call,” said White.

“I have got to try and make up his mind, it is his nod that I am ready to start so that is the thing I am looking towards.”

A prolific scorer over the last four seasons in Scotland with Livington and Stirling Albion, White insists he will continue finding the net for Wrexham.

“I have not get any qualms that I will score goals,” added White.

“That is what I have done the last four seasons.”
