Girl, 9, approached by two men in car on her way to school
POLICE are investigating after a primary school pupil was approached by two men who pulled over in a car.
The nine-year-old girl was walking to school when the incident happened in Haverfordwest at about 8am on Thursday.
Dyfed-Powys Police said there had been no attempt by the men, who were in a black car, to have any physical contact with her and she was not harmed. She then ran on to school and reported what had happened to school staff.
The incident happened when the girl was walking to Fenton School along Jury Lane from City Road in the town.
Parents and pupils have been told that it was an isolated incident.
“Expeditious and thorough inquiries are being carried out in respect of this suspicious incident and if anyone witnessed it or anyone has any information, contact police by calling 101,” the Dyfed-Powys force said yesterday.
Meanwhile, the force is investigating a report that a man approached a young boy at the Glanceulan Estate in Penrhyncoch, Aberystwyth, last Saturday between 3-3.45pm. The boy was not hurt and did not engage in conversation with the man.
The man is described as being dressed in dark or black trainers, trousers and jacket and carrying a mobile phone.
