Rolf grabbed my breasts, woman tells abuse trial
ROLF Harris thrust his crotch at a woman and grabbed her breasts in a “quick, opportunist grope”, his alleged victim has told a court.
The 86-year-old entertainer, whose family come from Merthyr Tydfil, is said to have approached the woman, then in her 40s, after the filming of a television show in 2004, Southwark Crown Court heard.
Speaking via video-link, she said: “All of a sudden he very quickly, it happened quite quickly, he with both arms out pushed me against the white wall. I had to step back, it was a shove, a heavy shove.”
He then slid his hands down to her breasts, and grabbed and squeezed them as he thrust his crotch against her, the court was told.
Immediately after, she said: “He looked to me and his eyes came to my eyes and then he looked away. He was quite vacant.”
She went on: “It was seconds. It wasn’t a super long time – it felt to me like a quick, opportunistic grope and I kind of naturally kind of slid out from him.”
The complainant said the alleged incident left her feeling “so embarrassed”.
She looked around immediately after it but nobody in the room appeared to have noticed the interaction, she said.
She said: “I just thought want to get out of here’.
“I feel quite good towards ‘I men in life and somehow did not want to see men’s faces – I just wanted to find some familiar faces that were female.”
There were at least 50 people in the room, the complainant estimated, and Stephen Vullo, defending, suggested that Harris’s wife had been there too.
The alleged victim could not recall whether Harris had been alone or with others before she says he touched her.
Mr Vullo said to the complainant: “Your story is totally fabricated from beginning to end, isn’t it?
“No, it isn’t, replied.
She denied coming forward in the hope of financial gain or that she was an attention-seeker looking for the limelight.
The trial continues. it isn’t,” she
