Strictly lovebirds on tour

-

Strictly Come Dancing couple Kevin and Karen are set to bring their debut UK tour to Wales. The professional dancers who tied the knot in 2015 have added six extra dates to their Kevin and Karen Dance Tour, including Cardiff’s New Theatre and Llandudno’s Venue Cymru.

The couple who met on stage and got engaged during a live stage performance on Broadway will be supported by a cast of dancers with a live 12-piece show band.

The tour, which kicks off on May 31 at Northampton, promises a “sultry, hipswinging journey through the Waltz, Cha Cha, Fox Trot, Tango and Salsa” with a “high-energy performance filled with sassy tunes, heart-pounding choreography and sparkling costumes”.

Tickets for the 22-date tour, including added venues in Oxford, Basingstoke, Reading and Southampton, are now on sale.

Each venue will be offering members of the audience an opportunity to be up on stage to dance with Kevin and Karen in the spotlight.

Last year, Kevin was partnered with singer and TV presenter Louise Redknapp on the popular BBC One ballroom dance show.

His Venezuelan wife Karen danced with singer Will Young before he quit the show following ‘personal reasons’. In 2015, Kevin set a new Strictly record when he became the first professional ever to reach the final for three consecutive years. The dancer made his debut with Good Morning Britain presenter Susanna Reid in 2013, before he went on to make the finals with pop star Frankie Bridge and recently EastEnders actress Kellie Bright. Karen has appeared in five series of the Saturday night show, partnering Nicky Byrne from Westlife, Hairy Biker Dave Myers, and reaching the final with Mark Wright before stealing the show on the 2015 series with Jeremy Vine. Last year’s Strictly Come Dancing winner, Ore Oduba revealed he will partner up with Karen for the 2017 Strictly live tour after sister-in-law Joanne Clifton had to pull out. How can I get tickets? Tickets can be bought online by visiting ticketmaster.co.uk How much are tickets priced? Tickets are priced between £34.50 and £39.50 (not including booking fees)

The tour comes to Cardiff’s New Theatre on June 21, box office 029 2087 8889 and Llandudno’s Venue Cymru, box office 01492 872000.
