Noone urgesTan to keep bossWarnock at Cardiff

-

CRAIG Noone insists he can feel the good times coming back at Cardiff City – and says he wants Neil Warnock to stay to make sure of it after admitting the veteran boss is proving his worth.

And he has said it’s over to club owner Vincent Tan to thrash out an agreement on a way forward under the Warnock who has said he will be happy to stay in South Wales if he feels the club will back a bid for an eighth managerial promotion.

Noone, a Bluebird since 2012, was signed by the club as they built towards their first elevation to the Premier League. But he has since suffered after relegation from the top-flight was followed by mediocrity in the Championship.

Now the 29-year-old senses the club is on the way back under Warnock after his goal helped Cardiff to a 5-0 romp over Rotherham , making it 11 Championship wins from his 22 games in charge.

Winger Noone made his 149th Cardiff league appearance in the victory over the Millers, scoring with a superb hitch-kick volley.

And the Scouser said: “Something is building here. Me, personally, I’ve seen quite a bit in the four or five years I’ve been here, the good times and bad times. I know the way the club is now, the way the manager has got the place in a happy mood and even the fans singing his name must have felt special to him because he’s got us playing well and getting results.”

Asked if that meant he wanted the wily Warnock to stay, Noone said: “Definitely – I think everybody would. The proof is in the pudding with what he does, how effective he is in this league, and I think he’s said he wants his eighth promotion so it’s over to Vincent and everyone to back him and see how it goes. In this league it’s very tough, I think he says himself he knows how difficult it is and needs the backing, which hopefully he will get and put him in good stead for next season.”
