Jamie in Facebook appeal for votes from fans

-

SUPPORT for Cardiff singer Jamie Miller is building as he prepares to appear in this weekend’s quarter-finals of ITV’s The Voice.

Jamie, right, appealed to his Facebook fans to vote for him as the competition enters its final stages tonight.

The competition was stepped up after each judge selected their team favourites to take through to the final rounds.

Remaining singers on Sir Tom Jones’ team include Into The Ark, Nadine McGhee and Craig Ward, while Jamie joins Mo Adeniran and Jack Bruley performing from Jennifer Hudson’s team.

Meanwhile, Will.i.am will take Tanya Lacey, Michelle John and Jason Jones through, while Gavin Rossdale will present Truly Ford, Sarah Morgan and Max Vickers.

Jamie wrote on the social media site: “I really hope I make it through to the semi-finals, feel like I’m just getting started! Hopefully I have all your votes!”

He clearly has good reason to be hopeful. Since he posted the status he has had an outpouring of support from the public – most of whom live in Wales.

Mari-Louise Hughes commented: “You will be awesome as always handsome boy, just have faith in yourself, you have the dedication and the talent to do this.”

Sandra Edwards said: “You’ve got my vote and I can’t wait to hear you sing. Good luck Jamie, you can do it.”

Last week the former Corpus Christi High School visited severely ill young patients at the Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospital for Wales in Cardiff.

Patients and parents were shocked when he walked into the hospital’s play room.

The 19-year-old sang versions of Adele’s hit One and Only and Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah before posing for pictures.

The Voice UK continues on ITV tonight at 8.30pm.
