-

A PONTYPRIDD-BASED CCTV company is expanding following a funding boost.

Computerised and Digital Security Systems Limited has secured a £200,000 Finance Wales loan.

The expansion of its premises will allow the company to take on more staff as it increases the range of products and services it offers.

Specialising in CCTV technology, the company recently acquired GEM, who provide intruder and fire alarm systems. CDS currently employ 35 staff and is looking to take on an additional three people.

Chief executive Simon Moon said: “This investment will support our expansion plans. Security systems have changed a lot since the company was founded in 1985 and we’re increasingly looking to diversify our offering with more digital solutions.

“To do this, we need to extend our base and take on more staff. Thanks to the team at Finance Wales, we’re now able to do that.”

The company provides fully integrated security solutions for a range of clients, offering all aspects of electronic security including CCTV, access control, gates, barriers, intruder and fire alarm systems.

Finance Wales deputy fund manager Bethan Cousins said: “It’s great to work with ambitious companies like CDS who are really embracing the opportunities available in a changing market.”

Finance Wales investment executive Navid Falatoori added: “We’re happy to support CDS with its expansion, which will bring muchneeded jobs to the area.”

Mervyn Ham of Iridium Corporate Services, who has worked with CDS in the past year as a strategic adviser, said: “The team at CDS is incredibly dedicated. Their growth through acquisition and expansion strategy has proven incredibly successful to date.

“Their strategy has been carefully refined to maximise growth potential in a changing market.”
