How they rated

LUKASZ FABIANSKI

Did all he could for the goal and was rarely troubled otherwise. Not much he can do when those in front of him continue to err in the sort of manner seen here.

KYLE NAUGHTON

Better than at West Ham, but not by much. Had trouble every time M’Baye Niang took the game to him and offered next to nothing going forward either. Was lucky Okaka’s effort was ruled out for offside because he was nowhere.

FEDERICO FERNANDEZ

A solid enough afternoon for the Argentinian. Handled the majority of work that came his way calmly and made some authoritative clearances when faced with Troy Deeney’s physical, combative approach.

ALFIE MAWSON

Will have nightmares about the error that cost Swansea City so dearly here. He had a solid afternoon otherwise, but that counts for little when you produce the blunder that decides the game.

MARTIN OLSSON

Had some uneasy moments against Nordin Amrabat and it seemed to spook him as he failed to take the chance to get forward when it presented itself. Was better after the break but even then his delivery was poor when in good areas.

JAY FULTON

Recalled for his first Premier League action since the day Clement was appointed. Did some disciplined, unseen work and made some nice forward forays, but was definitely solid rather than spectacular.

LEROY FER

Was all over the place during the opening half, falling over the ball or his own feet on several occasions. Far too often found himself simply brushed aside in the midfield battle. Frustrating.

KI SUNG-YUENG

Produced some decent bits of play with the ball at his feet, but was another who showed little appetite for the physical element of the game. That does not cut it in this sort of situation, even if he came as close as any Swansea player to a goal after a smart counter-attack.

LUCIANO NARSINGH

Another to frustrate. Has pace to burn but was reluctant to use it against Jose Holebas, produced little of worth in attack apart from teeing up Ki for his effort on goal. No surprise to see him withdrawn.

FERNANDO LLORENTE

When you have a World Cup and European Championship winning striker, you expect more. Where is the man who bullied Liverpool at Anfield and Burnley at the Liberty? This was not that player. Service to him needed to be better, but so did his desire and attitude. Swansea need so much more from him.
