Police hunt in mum murder probe

AMURDER probe following a mother-of-two’s disappeara­nce continued yesterday.

Tracy Kearns, 43, from Kinmel Bay, Conwy, has not been seen since 8pm last Sunday.

A 48-year-old man from the town, who is known to Tracy, was arrested on Thursday on suspicion of murder in connection with her disappeara­nce. He remained in custody at St Asaph police station yesterday.

North Wales Police officers were searching a property on Cader Avenue, Kinmel Bay, which was believed to be Ms Kearns’ home. Forensic teams were seen there yesterday and on Thursday night. A car was removed from the property yesterday morning.

Neighbours said they have been asked about a silver people carrier. Officers also reportedly took CCTV from one resident. One said: “We keep hoping she’ll turn up and be safe. We’re hoping may be she’s just gone somewhere to sort her head out.”

Extensive searches were ongoing in the town and Towyn areas with specialist teams, including sniffer dogs, searching areas around Tir Prince and this work will, if necessary, continue into the weekend.

Supt Sian Beck said: “We are still trying to find Tracy. Officers are carrying out house to house enquiries, speaking to local people who may have informatio­n, and we will continue with these alongside the specialist searches focused on land alongside Tir Prince.

“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who has any informatio­n about Tracy’s movements after 8pm on Sunday 7th May 2017 to urgently contact us. We are grateful for the help and patience of people living in the area. Tracy’s family continue to supported by specially trained officers.”

Tracy is described as 5ft 3ins tall with sandy shoulder length hair. Anyone with informatio­n is asked to call police on 101 quoting reference V066820.
