Remainer May wrong leader for Brexit deal

-

THE current government position following the election is appalling.

To call an election with a lead of 20-plus points and then to lose seats takes hard work.

Teresa May did exactly this during the referendum. Having called the election she then disappeared.

The main topic should have been Brexit but she allowed the opposition parties to divert the campaign onto any other subject.

Back to last September, when she became PM, the warning bells were ringing because, despite the people voting to leave the EU, the Conservative party manoeuvred a remainer in as leader.

So for nine months she did absolutely nothing towards Brexit.

With the majority of the cabinet being remainers, the majority of the Commons and the Lords also being remainers, the future for Brexit looks bleak. So back to Ukip? Their job, it would seem, is not done. The electorate needs a strong Ukip to keep the Tories in line.

What happens now I do not know.

But I have a strong fear that the remainers are winning. I fear that if we leave it will be a dreadful deal, like Norway’s.

What the country needs is a leader who will tell the EU to shut up and listen to our conditions, because the UK is holding all the trump cards.

Unfortunately we have not got that sort of leader. James Cole Swansea
