Terror arrest men released without charge
THREE men arrested in Wales by detectives investigating the Parsons Green terror attack in London have been released with no further action.
Around 30 people were injured when a bomb exploded on a District Line underground train at Parsons Green at 8.20am on Friday, September 15.
The men released yesterday include:
A 25-year-old man who was arrested in Newport on Tuesday, September 19;
A 30-year-old man who was arrested in Newport, on Wednesday, September 20;
A 20-year old man who was arrested in Cardiff on Monday, September 25.
To date, seven people have been arrested as part of the investigation by the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
One person has been charged and the other six released with no further action.
The Metropolitan Police confirmed that searches were continuing at an address in Cardiff as of yesterday, while a search in Surrey had been completed.
Ahmed Hassan, 18, of Sunbury, Surrey, has been charged with attempting to murder persons travelling on a District Line Train from Wimbledon on September 15 and with maliciously causing by triacetone triperoxide (TATP) or other explosive substance an explosion of a nature likely to endanger life or to cause serious injury to property.
He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Friday, September 22, where he was remanded in custody to appear at the Old Bailey on Friday, October 13.
