Communications agency Golley Slater has made several new appointments and created three new apprenticeships across its digital media, design and account handling teams in a drive to grow future talent across the agency.

Headquartered in Cardiff city centre, Golley Slater delivers creative communications campaigns for a range of private and public sector clients including the Welsh Government, Mitsubishi Motors, the Development Bank of Wales, Loteri Cymru and Hilton Cardiff.

Digital manager Joe McMullen joins the digital media team with eight years’ experience in search engine optimisation and digital marketing and specialises in pay-perclick.

Gloria Fan, originally from Plymouth, has joined as a media executive after graduating in marketing management at Cardiff Metropolitan University, and Hannah Swain has become a full-time media executive after completing her higher-level apprenticeship in advertising, marketing and communications with Golley Slater.

Tom Temple, who graduated earlier this year in graphic communication from Cardiff Metropolitan University, joins the creative team as a junior designer following a threemonth internship with the agency.

In the account handling team, Ella Bradley has been appointed as account executive after completing a graduate internship at the University of South Wales in Pontypridd, while Hannah Lindsay, who joined Golley Slater’s advertising team last September, has been promoted to senior account executive and will be responsible for running key accounts including the marketing for Welsh Government Skills, Education and Lifelong Learning and Superfast Broadband.

Golley Slater has also taken on two new apprentices in its media and client activation teams and is currently looking to fill another two apprenticeship vacancies in PR/social media and digital media.

Managing director of Golley Slater Mike Leeson said: “It’s been great to welcome this raft of fresh new talent to our digital media, design and account handling teams. They all join at a very exciting time for us after a series of new business wins including the Welsh Government’s latest organ donation campaign and a new brand identity for Cardiff BID.

“We are committed to investing in new, up-and-coming talent to ensure we remain at the forefront of the Welsh creative industry. Taking on these recent graduates and creating so many apprenticeship opportunities has allowed us to offer bespoke training in the wide variety of skills that our clients and campaigns demand.

“We are pleased to be helping to shape the next generation of creative and digital talent here in Wales.”
