-

ENTERTAINER Max Boyce will be showing a new face to the world after being appointed as an ambassador for oil distributor Oil 4 Wales.

The comedian and performer, who is due to kick off a sold-out tour in January, has been named as the Welsh company’s latest high-profile ambassador this month.

Mr Boyce, who is also the president of Glynneath Rugby Club, will be joining other Oil 4 Wales ambassadors including Wales’ rugby players Dan Biggar, Dan Lydiate and Ken Owens and BBC Hill Farmer Gareth Wyn Jones.

Mr Boyce said: “I’m only too pleased to become an ambassador for Oil 4 Wales and to be joining many legends from the world of Welsh rugby.

“I have been involved with Oil 4 Wales and with its founder Colin Owens for over 20 years, and when he rang me up and asked me would I consider being an ambassador, I wholeheartedly agreed.

“He has always been a great friend to Glynneath RFC, and understands and sympathises with the difficulties of running a local club with limited financial resources.

“He has been more than generous, and I have always found Colin and Oil 4 Wales dependable and trustworthy.”

Oil 4 Wales supplies 16 million litres of fuel to 65,000 domestic and commercial customers across Wales.

Mr Boyce will be working with the oil distributor, which has depots in Cardiff, Carmarthen, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Newtown, Lampeter, Maesteg, Brecon and Pembroke Dock, to support its vision of working with, and for, communities across Wales.

Mr Owens added: “I have known Max for years and I am thrilled he is finally becoming a part of the Oil 4 Wales family.

“Everyone knows Max and his unmistakable wit, humour and talent, so we are sure he will be a fantastic ambassador for the brand.

“As a true Welsh icon he represents everything we at Oil 4 Wales stand for, so we can’t wait to get started on working with him.”
